Born in Abruzzo. Shaped by the World. Back to Show You Both. Guido is a local who spent 12 years living and travelling abroad, working, exploring, and experiencing some of the world's most celebrated destinations. Then he came home. And he saw his region with completely new eyes.
What we found surprised us: dramatic mountains, ancient villages, wild coastlines, and a food culture that rivals anywhere in Italy — all of it almost entirely unknown to the world.
borGO exists to change that. Not through mass tourism, but through meaningful, sustainable experiences — the kind that benefit the people and places behind them, and leave you with something that lasts longer than a photo.

Many of these aren't listed on any platform. Some aren't even well-known locally. We find them, curate them, and make them accessible to you.
Nice to know! A small percentage of every experience goes directly into a community fund for the small towns we work with. Because the places that move you deserve to grow from your visit.

Everything You Need to Know Before
Are borGO experiences available in English?
Yes — all our experiences, calls, and communications are available in both English and Italian. Our tailor-made service is especially popular with international travellers, and we design each itinerary with your language (when possible) and cultural context in mind.
How is borGO different from a standard tour operator?
We're locals who've spent 12 years abroad, so we understand exactly what international travellers expect from a great experience — and we apply that standard to Abruzzo. We don't resell existing tours. We map and curate our territory ourselves, which means some of what we offer simply doesn't exist anywhere else.
What is the community fund for small towns?
A small percentage of revenue from every experience we run goes into a dedicated fund for the small towns we work in and around. The fund supports local initiatives — from cultural events to infrastructure — in communities that don't always benefit from tourism. We'll always be transparent about where the money goes.
Since our business is younger than 1 year we do not have a lot in this fund, however, you can follow us to discover more. We are already discussing with some villages how to approach this.
What if I only have one day in Abruzzo?
One day is enough to have an experience that stays with you. We offer single-day itineraries and standalone experiences across the region, specially to those who want to take a break from Rome.

How far in advance do I need to book a tailor-made itinerary?
We recommend at least 2–3 months for tailor-made itineraries, so we have time to research, contact local partners, and build something genuinely good. For packages, last-minute bookings are often possible. Unique experiences have their own availability; check each listing.
The reason is also that we respect the time that each artisan or operator can dedicate to you.
Can I combine a ready-made package with tailor-made additions?
Absolutely. All our packages are flexible — you can shorten them, extend them, swap a day, or add an experience from our local catalogue. Just mention it during your discovery call, and we'll adapt it together.
Are your experiences suitable for families with children?
Many of them are. For the packages, when you fill our discovery form, tell us the ages of your children and any specific needs — we'll filter and design accordingly. Some of our most requested tailor-made itineraries are family-focused.
For the experiences, it is mentioned in the description whether they are suitable for kids and young people.
Do you operate year-round?
Yes, though availability varies by experience and season. Abruzzo is genuinely a four-season destination — mountain experiences are magical in both summer and winter; coastal and valley experiences peak in spring and autumn. We'll always be upfront about what works best when you're here.
