Authentic Experiences in Abruzzo:
Choose your adventure
Explore Abruzzo by Experiences and Packages
borGO offers three ways to experience Abruzzo — and none of them involves a big bus, a script, or a group of 40 strangers. Whether you want to hike through Gran Sasso National Park with a local guide, discover medieval villages along the Trabocchi Coast, or taste Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine directly from the producer, every experience is designed around genuine connection and not tourist theatre.
Our experiences are led by the people who actually live here: farmers, artisans, historians, and outdoor guides who have spent their lives in Abruzzo's landscapes and villages. Choose a category below, or tell us what you're looking for and we'll design something just for you.
Not the Usual
Designed from the Inside Out
borGO experiences aren't assembled from a catalogue. Each one is built around a person, a winemaker who inherited his grandfather's vines, a mountain guide who grew up tracking wolves in the Majella, a cook who learned her recipes from the women of the village. We connect you directly with them, keep groups small, and leave space for the day to surprise you.
A share of every experience goes back to the community that made it possible.

Abruzzo in Every Direction
From the Adriatic coast to the highest peaks in the Apennines, Abruzzo fits more variety into one region than most countries manage in a lifetime. Our experiences span the Gran Sasso and Majella national parks, the fishing villages along the Trabocchi coast, the medieval streets of Lanciano and Chieti, and the forgotten inland valleys, places that still move at their own rhythm.

Everything You Need to Know Before Booking
Can I customise an experience?
Yes. Every experience can be adapted to your pace, your interests, and the size of your group. Get in touch before booking and we'll shape the itinerary around you.
How large are the groups?
Small. Usually between 2 and 10 people. That's not a compromise, it's the point. Smaller groups mean deeper access, more flexibility, and experiences that actually feel personal.
If you have a group of more than 10 and you want to do the same experiences, that is possible, and we will not put you with other smaller groups.
Do I need to speak Italian to enjoy a borGO experience?
Not at all. borGO was built with international travellers in mind from day one: our founder's own experience living and working abroad shaped a deep understanding of what it means to arrive somewhere new and want a genuine connection, not just a guided tour. It also happens that Abruzzo is dramatically under-served for English-speaking visitors: most local operators don't cater to international guests, which is exactly the gap we set out to fill.
All our experiences are available in English, and our guides are selected for their ability to share their world across languages*. Some of the best moments — a shared meal, a walk through olive groves, learning to make pasta — need very few words anyway.
* when not possible we try our best to find people with language skills.
How far in advance should I book?
For most experiences, 2–3 weeks ahead is enough. For July–August or multi-day packages, earlier is better.
For tailor-made itineraries and group, we would need at least 2 months.
