Starting from Bar Aterno in the centre of Raiano, this three-hour walking tour moves through the village and into the San Venanzio Nature Reserve with a local guide.

The first part of the tour takes you through Raiano's historic centre, where ten large-scale murals are painted across building facades. Each work is dedicated to the poet Umberto Postiglione, who was born here, and together they form an open-air visual narrative about his life and verse. Your guide provides context on Postiglione and on the artistic project that brought the murals into being.

The route then descends into the San Venanzio Nature Reserve along the Aterno River. The valley holds a group of restored historic mills built along the riverbanks and the Hermitage of San Venanzio, a site of worship cut directly into the limestone cliff face. Further into the reserve, you reach the sulphurous spring, a natural source with a mineral character that has attracted visitors since Roman times.

The tour ends with an olive oil and gelato tasting at Bar Aterno. The bar's gelato is listed in the Gambero Rosso Gelaterie d'Italia guide.
