Authentic Experiences in Abruzzo: A Shared Vision of True Luxury

Guido Cucchia

At borGO, we design travel experiences in Abruzzo for people who are not looking for more — but for deeper. Deeper connections, deeper understanding, deeper time.

We specialize in authentic experiences in Abruzzo for travelers who seek a different kind of luxury: one made of attention, care, and real human relationships. Our journeys are created for those who value quality tourism, slow and sustainable travel, cultural itineraries, food and wine experiences, time in nature, and above all, meaningful encounters with local communities and producers.

Every experience is carefully crafted through listening — to travelers and to the territory — so that each journey feels personal, immersive, and memorable, leaving a positive trace both in those who travel and in the places that welcome them.

Two independent projects, one shared vision

This philosophy is exactly what connects borGO  with Taste Abruzzo.

Taste Abruzzo was born from the desire to tell and let people experience Abruzzo in a way that is authentic, respectful, and deeply rooted in place. Like borGO, they do not offer simple travel packages, but curated journeys designed for travelers who want to understand the region through its people, its flavors, and its stories. Although borGO and Taste Abruzzo are two independent realities, our collaboration is a conscious choice. It is not a casual partnership or a purely operational synergy, but a shared commitment to a precise vision of tourism — one that puts coherence, responsibility, and long-term value at the center.

Travel designed through listening

At borGO, our work always starts with listening. Listening to travelers, to understand what kind of journey they are truly looking for. Listening to local communities, to respect their rhythms, their needs, and their limits. This approach allows us to design experiences that create real connections rather than superficial consumption. Whether it’s a dinner inspired by ancient traditions in a historic village like Crecchio, a walk through protected natural areas such as the Zompo lo Schioppo Nature Reserve, or a hands-on experience that reconnects families and children with traditional games and rural life, every moment is grounded in authenticity.

Travel, for us, is not about performance. It is about presence.

borGO: tourism as a shared benefit

borGO was founded on a simple but powerful belief: tourism should benefit everyone involved — travelers, local communities, and the environment.

That is why every experience we design aims to:

  • enhance the authentic beauty of Abruzzo
  • preserve its cultural and natural heritage
  • support local economies in a concrete and measurable way, especially in lesser-known villages

Our model ensures that the value generated by travel remains rooted in the territory, helping communities stay alive, active, and visible. Tourism becomes a tool for regeneration rather than extraction.

A conscious partnership built on values

The collaboration between borGO and Taste Abruzzo reflects this same approach. Together, we combine different skills around a common goal: creating authentic, responsible travel experiences in Abruzzo that generate real value for both travelers and local territories.

This partnership is based on shared values:

  • respect for local communities
  • careful curation rather than mass offerings
  • long-term vision over short-term gain

It is a way of working that requires time, trust, and consistency — the same elements that define the journeys we design.

Telling Abruzzo with coherence and vision

Our shared vision also shapes how we communicate Abruzzo.

This is why we fully recognize ourselves in the narrative of the international campaign “Abruzzo. Beyond time, within the soul” and “Abruzzo, Italy’s best-kept secret”, promoted by the GST – Gruppo di Sviluppo Territoriale, chaired by Marianna Colantoni. This is not a traditional tourism commercial. It is a cultural manifesto.

It presents Abruzzo in its most profound dimension — beyond trends, beyond time — speaking directly to the soul of places and people.

The images, atmospheres, and stories expressed in this campaign reflect the same values that guide borGO and our conscious partnership with Taste Abruzzo: a form of tourism that is authentic, responsible, and capable of generating lasting value.

For us, communicating Abruzzo and living it are part of the same journey.

Authentic experiences in Abruzzo, designed by those who live it

For borGO, Abruzzo is not just a destination. It is home.

Together with partners like Taste Abruzzo, we create tailor-made travel experiences in Abruzzo for conscious travelers who want to go beyond standard routes and discover the region through its people, traditions, landscapes, and food culture.

Here, sea and mountains coexist naturally. Historic villages meet contemporary life. Enogastronomy is not a trend, but a language of identity. Our role is to translate all of this into journeys that feel genuine, respectful, and deeply human.

Dedicated support for international travelers and travel professionals

borGO works with both individual travelers and tourism professionals who wish to offer authentic holidays in Abruzzo. Through Taste Abruzzo Experience, we collaborate with international markets and provide dedicated support for travelers and travel agents.

For the USA, Canada, and the UK, a dedicated phone line has been activated in collaboration with Gruppo UVET, ensuring continuity, competence, and direct assistance for every request — whether from travelers or travel professionals.

A different way to travel Abruzzo

Through our work and partnerships, borGO continues to build a model of tourism based on quality, care, and responsibility. A model where travel is not rushed, places are not consumed, and communities remain at the center.

Because in Abruzzo — and in the journeys we design — true luxury is made of time, attention, and real relationships
